Giving quality feedback is not a natural skill that students have! These sessions were designed to help teachers faciliate peer to peer feedback in the classroom. Participants were given practical tools to train students to give, receive and apply actionable feedback with peers as well as their teachers.

• Strategies to enhance collaboration and student engagement via peer to peer feedback

• Ideas for facilitating feedback activities with students

• Guidance on how to get students to apply feedback to their own work

• Facilitating gathering feedback from students about their learning experience and applying that feedback to the course

These PD sessions addressed supporting students writing in science courses using CER, or Claims, Evidence and Reasoning. This strategy helps learners support statements with evidence and make logical connections within a topic.

• What the CER strategy is and how it helps students make connections within the content

• How to introduce the concept of CER to students

• Practice activities for solidifying understanding with students about the strategy.

• How to scaffold the CER process to help students at all levels make claims and support them with evidence

These sessions focused on helping teachers with no familiarity or beginning skill level with the platform.
